AMSTI Math and Science Parent Night

On October 23, 2008 from 5:00-6:00 p.m, we invited parents to participate in their child's learning with AMSTI Math and Science. We called this AMSTI Parent Night. AMSTI means Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative. The students taught their parents about a new unit called Plant Growth and Development plus how to collect and analysis data using a venn diagram for math.

The purpose of the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) is to improve math and science teaching in Alabama so all students develop the knowledge and skills necessary for success in postsecondary studies and later in the workforce. To accomplish this AMSTI provides teachers with ongoing, grade and subject level professional development and the equipment and materials needed to teach math and science using hands-on, activity-based instruction.
